Resource House

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a most urgent need for WHO member states to engage the private health sector. The private sector represents an important resource to provide a surge in capacity to respond to the pandemic and to ensure essential health services are maintained during the pandemic. However, available guidance countries can use is very limited and many calls for the development of such guidance have been issued by WHO regions and member states.

Readers may search these resources using variables such as the areas of engagement (treatment, diagnostics, challenges, strategy, financial contribution, notification, equipment), Country and WHO Region.

WHO’s Health System and Governance Department and the Advisory Group on Private Health Sector Engagement are developing resources and guidance to support member states during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In support of this goal, Impact for Health is monitoring the news for how governments and Ministries of Health approaching the private health sector in their responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
